Shloimy

Shlomo Abba ben R' Dovid HaKohen

י״ב אדר תשס״ז – כ״ז תשרי תשפ״ו

March 2, 2007 – October 19, 2025

Shloimy was always on the go. On a bike. RipStik. Skis. Electric scooter. His own two feet. A clunker of a car. A golf cart. Plane.

Never standing still. Never wasting a moment.

Shloimy used his energy to do mitzvos. Running errands for people. Shlepping, building, dancing.

His action is his legacy.

He loved life, and it showed.

He was famous for his one-liners, witty sayings that echo in our home and still bring smiles to our faces.

"Kids these days!"

he'd tsk, with a world-weary sigh on his eleven-year-old face.

"Manischewitz!"

as a response to just about anything.

"The nimshal, my friends, is obvious"

after a mashal that was anything but obvious.

But the latest — and last — Shloimyism was one that he coined only a few months before his petira.

"Shloimy!" you’d hear as he raced out the door. "Where are you going?!?"

"I'm going to help
Klal Yisroel!"

That was our Shloimy.

He's still helping Klal Yisroel.

Next time you travel, say Tefillas Haderech with Shloimy. Have kavana. Go help Klal Yisroel.
